Wedding Wednesday – Chair Accents

I absolutely love all the different ways you can personalize your chairs to match your wedding day.  Some people tie amazing Bride & Groom signs to the back of the couple’s chairs, some add beautiful chair covers,  but you can also add a bit of color or pizzazz to your head table chairs or all of the chairs by doing some of the following ideas using runners or sashes.  You can alter these to fit the chairs at your venue, or perhaps you are looking at renting chiavari chairs for your wedding day as well.   Here are some of our favorite chair sash accents for this Wedding Wednesday.

Holiday Inspiration

The holidays are definitely upon us, as evidenced by every trip to the grocery store and Target I have made in the past week!  Because of it, I’m in the mood to start shopping for some new decorations for our mantle to get it ready for Christmas.   Besides looking on Etsy and my favorite brick and mortar stores, I also happen to love Instagram for sneak peeks of products that my favorite designers are working on.  This week I got two sneak peeks of things hitting their shops soon!  I don’t know about you, but these inspired me and I can’t wait to add them to our mantle!

How about you, are there any designs and products catching your eye right now for the holidays?  I love finding new inspiration for the house, especially for the holidays!  And follow me on instagram at @katiesaeger to catch up on behind the scenes in our own lives and the weddings from this year.

Aries Showroom Designs

We are lucky here in St. Louis to have some really great rental companies who carry some fun items and who think outside the box as well.  About a year ago, I suggested to Cheryl at The Aries Company that they should let us (the planners) come and design their showroom for them!  They have such a large showroom space and the opportunity for some fun vignettes is definitely possible.  Since then, I have now had the honor of designing and working with the Aries team to create two tablescapes (and one ceremony space!) for their Lunch, Wine and Design showroom events.  Aries offers many different rentals, but they also offer way more than that.  From custom lighting and draping, they can provide your event with much more than just chairs and chargers and bring a little bit of  pizzazz into your wedding day.

For our second vignette at the Lunch, Wine and Design event, we wanted to do something a little more modern for the upcoming Spring and Summer timing.  We worked with Julie from Ten Four Paper to create a fun pattern that completely matched the beautiful linen colors we picked from Sitting Pretty.

The pattern was utilized in a variety of places.  We worked with Aries to custom create a vellum in the pattern to cover two of their drums that would then be hung over the table.   We then pulled it into the ceremony vignette, and we will have more pictures of that coming soon on Facebook!  Then Julie designed some fun menus for us, that fit perfectly in the square white plates from Aries and sat on top of the beautiful coral napkins.

We just loved how this table came out, and we love what the other vendors created as well!  Check out more of the tables on Aries Facebook Page!

Decorating Glass Jars

I love DIY ideas that can be used as accent pieces both in your home as well as for your special day.  There are many different ways that you can decorate old jars, but my favorites are glass etching, and spray paint.   Would love to hear what your favorites are as well!

Glass etching is fairly easy to do at home, and with already made letters bought at your local craft store, your etching can be super chic for both home and weddings.  The below is a great way to organize your pantry at home, and also could be a great way to label jars of crayons, markers, and stickers for your little ones.

I also really love the idea of using these for your wedding.  The below shows a star etched onto glass, but you could easily attach a number sticker onto the jar, and paint the etching cream around that number to create a fun candle table number for your outside wedding.

Look around your house and I’m sure you can find tons of old bottles that once used, would be PERFECT for this project!  These glass bottles were everyday items that you use, that were spray painted completely white, and then filled with billy balls to make an instant centerpiece that everyone will talk about!  This would be perfect for rectangle shaped tables.

The last idea is taking twine (or yarn) and wrapping it around glass votive holders from your local home decor store.  Once you have attached the twine or yarn in place, use a white spray paint (or even a more opaque looking one), and spray away.  It creates a neat effect on the votive holders that is perfect for a wedding or your home decor!

Hot Chocolate Bar

Fall is one of my favorite seasons as I love the turning of the leaves and the crisp cool air.  I can totally feel that the seasons have changed here in St. Louis and I want Fall to stick around as long as it can.  Since I haven’t yet had my first hot chocolate of the season (or pumpkin spice latte!), I definitely was feeling fall inspired this morning.  A hot chocolate dessert bar would be a fabulous addition to your fall or winter affair.  The heart marshmallows are such a tiny but amazing detail and the hot chocolate is just a comfort that warms you up from the inside out.  Try making your own spin by including other comfort desserts like brownies shaped with hearts and add a s’mores station for that gather around the campfire with friends feeling.
