Friday Reader

Photographed by Aaron Shintaku

I am way behind on my google reader from the past two weeks, but I wanted to share a few pictures that totally caught my eye when I started reading through some of the posts in my reader.  This yellow and peacock wedding was photographed by Aaron Shintaku, styled by Jesi Haack, and the floral design was by JL Designs. These two pictures are a teaser of the amazingness on the Inspired by This blog.  You have to check out the rest of the pictures to see just why I fell in love with this wedding.

Cute ways to tie in your colors into your wedding day, and even your personality.  The bowties and fabric flowers were woven in elsewhere during the wedding day, and the burst of color was so fresh and fun!  Check out the rest of the amazing photographs here!

White Table Setting

Image by Poppytalk and found via Style Files

I am refusing to let go of summer just yet.  I love this clean and fresh look for a tablescape.  Queen’s Anne Lace is so amazing on it’s own, that you don’t need anything else but that to come up with a amazing centerpiece.  And I love the one stem on the napkin, it really makes this picture.

Balloon Garland

Image found on Maddy Cakes Muse

Dessert tables are all the rage right now as they are a fun element that you can add to your reception and they act as favors for your guests as well.  I’m loving the new details though that this dessert table has from the balloon garland to the pinwheels on the cake and finally to the lovely triangle pieces of paper listing out what each dessert is.  It’s fun, whimsical, and the balloons just add another dimension to the display.

Sheet Music Flowers

Love these paper flowers made from vintage sheet music done by Merriment Events!  One of their couples was a musician and the bride really wanted to incorporate sheet music into their day.  Love this spin on it and it even was installed right behind the band.

This is just one reason why I tell brides to incorporate things that tell the story of both of them.  There are beautiful ways to do this in your design, and you each will remember those details when you look back on the wedding.

Succulent Bouquet Inspiration

Top: Wedding Chicks and photos by Sarah K Chen Photography Middle: The House That Lars Built and photo by Mike Cunningham and Weddingbee with photo unknown  Bottom: Image from Craft by Flora Grubb Gardens

I love bouquets that incorporate different textures, and adding succulents to your bouquet is an incredibly easy way to add some of that.  It also incorporates something more substantial in size, which means you can use less of another flower because it fills up more space.  My favorite in this bunch?  The beautiful one in the middle with the spiky bright pink flowers.  Perfect contrast, and just a stunning bouquet!
